Bring your treasured wheels \u2013 classic, vintage, modern, hot rod, muscle car or motorcycle \u2013 or just come along for the rare opportunity to see a large, private collection of classic cars in a showroom.<\/p>\n\n

Sealord supervisor Graeme Blincoe and manager Adrian McGillan are organising the Sealord Charity Car Show, on Sunday, 27 November.<\/p>\n\n

The car show is a first for Sealord, with proceeds going to Nelson Women\u2019s Refuge. Entry to the show is by gold coin and Sealord will \u2018top up the buckets\u2019 with a company contribution also.<\/p>\n\n

Graeme says the idea for the show quickly gathered speed once they had the support of Westfleet Managing Director Craig Boote who will lift the lid on his \u201cspectacular and largely hidden collection of unseen gems\u201d, garaged in his Vickerman Street showroom.<\/p>\n\n

Cars will be on display on Duncan Street as well, with council support and a road management plan in place.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s lots of room \u2013 bring the kids, grab a coffee and you could walk away with a spot prize also,\u201d says Graeme, adding that it\u2019s best to leave dogs at home and to lock your bicycle up rather than walk it around vehicles.<\/p>\n\n

Avid car enthusiasts Graeme and Adrian knew they could pull together an amazing collection and saw the opportunity for a fundraising event. Graeme is also drawing on his experience as founder of the Nelson Car Show in 2005.<\/p><\/div>\n\n

The organiser say that Sealord often has a fundraiser underway, such as the Kai With Love fundraiser happening now in the lead-up to Christmas where staff are contributing food treats to those in need and can choose to donate the Christmas ham or turkey they receive from Sealord to the charity also.<\/p>

Graeme is the proud owner of a 1972 GTR XU-1<\/em> Holden Torana, a Holden Torana SLR5000 Replica, a Beach Buggy, and a Holden HSV R8 Maloo ute. It will be quite a logistical exercise, but he intends to bring them all to the show, throwing in a motorised bathtub for a bit of fun.<\/p>

Adrian will bring his wife\u2019s Holden GTS and debut his classic 1948 Chevrolet Hot Rod which he has just finished building. Sealord Chief Executive Doug Paulin will bring an XB GT Falcon to the party \u2013 a car he has a soft spot for after growing up in Southland where a V8 was the car of choice for wh\u0101nau and friends.<\/p>
